Chalk Mural Contest! Win a 5-Pack of Passes

The summer has ended, school is back and that’s a bummer. But at least it gives us a chance to give away a 5-PACK of weekend passes to Freaky Deaky!

With school back for the fall, we want to see some Freaky Deaky art on your campus. Whomever makes the best mural wins! Grab 4 friends to help and let’s see what you can do.

Follow the submission guidelines below so you know the basics and read the full rules at the bottom of this page.

CONTEST STARTS WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 14th 12:00 pm cst and ENDS FRIDAY OCTOBER 14th 12:00pm cst.

Take a picture of yourself with your mural and post it to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. All submissions must be posted to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #GetFreakyDeaky, and you must tag Freaky Deaky and your school in the post.

All submissions must:
*Be submitted via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram;
*be submitted using #GetFreakyDeaky
*Incorporate the Freaky Deaky logo in the mural design;
*Incorporate the festival dates in the mural design;
*Incorporate at least 5 artists from the 2016 lineup in the mural design;
*Be at least five feet by five feet (5ft x 5ft) large;
*Be drawn in washable sidewalk chalk;
*Be drawn on a high school, college, or university campus;
*Depict the participant and his or her mural; and
*Tag the participant’s college/university and Freaky Deaky (@getfreakydeaky for Twitter, @getfreakydeaky for Facebook, @getfreakydeaky for Instagram) in their submission post.

OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.  PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

  1. KEY DATES:

The 2016 Freaky Deaky Campus Mural Contest (“Contest”) entry period begins at 12:00:00 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST) on Wednesday September 14th 2016 and ends at 12:00:00 p.m. CST on Friday October 14th, 2016 (“Entry Period”). Entries received before or outside of the Entry Period will not be accepted or be eligible to win the stated prizes, except as otherwise set forth in these Official Rules. Sponsor’s clock is the official clock of the Contest.

  1. ELIGIBILITY:

The Contest is open only to participants who are at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of entry and legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, excluding residents of AK and HI. To be eligible, participants must also have a Twitter, Facebook or Instagram account. Signing up for a Twitter, Facebook or Instagram account is free. Employees, agents, officers, and directors of SFX-React Operating LLC (“Sponsor”) and each of their subsidiaries and affiliated companies, advertising, promotion or production agencies, prize providers and their immediate family members or individuals residing in their same household, are not eligible to participate or enter. Participants agree to be bound by all decisions of Sponsor, which are binding and final. Void in Puerto Rico, U.S. territories and possessions and wherever prohibited or restricted by law.

  1. HOW IT WORKS:

During the Entry Period, participants must draw a mural on campus with sidewalk chalk and post, tweet or instagram a picture of himself or herself with the mural, while meeting the Submission Guidelines (a “Submission”). All Submissions must follow the Submission Guidelines set forth below. Submissions may or may not be acknowledged, in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor is not responsible for Submission complications, technical difficulties or unregistered or unrecorded Submissions. Complying with Sponsor’s instructions and these Official Rules will generate one (1) entry into the Contest. Any participant who enters after the close of the Entry Period, or who submits a Submission that is not in compliance with these Official Rules, will not be given an entry into the Contest. Participants may submit more than one Submission, but multiple Submissions does not increase likelihood of winning.

  1. Submission GUIDELINES:

Only Submissions that meet the Submission Guidelines set forth below will be considered a Submission.

In order to be eligible for this Contest, your Submission must (as determined in the sole discretion of Sponsor):

  • Be submitted via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram;
  • Incorporate the Freaky Deaky logo as pictured on the Site;
  • Be submitted using #GetFreakyDeaky
  • Be at least five feet by five feet (5ft x 5ft) large;
  • Be drawn in washable sidewalk chalk;
  • Be drawn on a high school, college, or university campus;
  • Depict the participant and his or her mural; and
  • Tag the participant’s college/university and Freaky Deaky (@getfreakydeaky for Twitter, @getfreakydeaky for Facebook, @getfreakydeaky for Instagram) in their submission post.

In order to be eligible for this Contest, your Submission may not (as determined in the sole discretion of Sponsor):

  • Plagiarize, replicate, or copy any other submitted Submission;
  • Be sexually explicit, obscene, profane, or offensive;
  • Be unnecessarily violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group;
  • Promote alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing);
  • Promote any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous;
  • Endorse any form of hate or hate group;
  • Contain materials embodying the names or other indicia identifying any person, including, without limitation, celebrities and/or other public or private figures, living or dead;
  • Communicate messages inconsistent with the positive images and/or good will to which Sponsor wishes to associate; or
  • Violate any law.

All Submissions that do not comply with these Official Rules or that otherwise contain prohibited, or inappropriate content deemed unacceptable by the Sponsor, in its sole discretion, will be disqualified.  The Sponsor makes the final determination as to which Submissions are eligible to take part in this Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to modify the criteria, dates, and guidelines of the Contest at any time.

  1. SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS:

At the close of the Entry Period, a qualified panel of judges (“Judges”), as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, will review the Submissions and select one (1) Winner based on the following criteria (“Judging Criteria”):

  • Creativity and originality of design (1/3)
  • Quality of design (1/3)
  • Accuracy of information in design (1/3)

On or around Friday October 14th 2016, the Winner will be notified via Twitter, Facebook or Instagram and will be requested to email Sponsor’s social media manager in order to claim the Prize. In the event of a tie, the Submission with the highest score in the “Creativity and originality of design” category will be deemed the potential winner of the applicable prize. In the event that there is still a tie, the Sponsor will have an alternate judge review and judge the tied Submissions to break the tie. Sponsor reserves the right to not select a winner for any or all prizes if, in its sole discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified Submissions. If a potential winner fails to comply with any of the obligations, requirements, terms or conditions of these Official Rules or is found to be ineligible or unqualified for any other reason or to have tampered or interfered with the contest process, the potential winner may be disqualified. Potential winners may be required to complete and return to Sponsor an Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability, and, if legally permissible, Publicity Release (collectively, “Releases”) within the time period specified by Sponsor. In addition, potential winners may be required to certify, on information or belief, that their Submission is their original creation and has not been published or publicized and has not won another contest. If a potential winner fails to complete and return any required Releases within the specified time period, that potential winner may be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected. Winners may be required to produce government-issued identification.

  1. PRIZES:

There will be one (1) Prize awarded to one (1) Winner as part of this Contest.

  • The participant with the highest score based on the Judging Criteria will be selected as the Winner. The Winner will receive five (5) General Admission passes for all three (3) days of the Festival (ARV: $1017.25). The passes will admit the Winner and four (4) companions into the Festival.   1. PRIZE CONDITIONS

Festival passes are subject to issuer’s ticketholder agreement. Sponsor is not responsible if Festival is delayed, postponed or cancelled for any reason. Winner will not receive compensation from Sponsor for tickets that the winner is unable to use due to cancellation, postponement or delay of the Festival, but tickets may be subject to standard rain-check policies and procedures set by the issuer. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, misplaced or destroyed tickets. Prizes consist of only those items specifically listed as part of the prizes. All travel related expenses, including but limited to, flights or other transportation to and from the Festival, food and beverage, taxes, insurance and incidentals are the sole responsibility of winner. The winner and his or her companion hereby agree that they will at all times comply with applicable alcohol (e.g., underage drinking laws) and illegal drug laws. The winner and his or her companion agree that they will conduct themselves at all times in a socially responsible, respectful and appropriate manner; and, should they fail to do so, the prize may be immediately terminated and the Sponsor may pursue other legal sanctions against the winner. No substitution, cash redemption or transfer of prize by winner is permitted, but Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.

  1. Release:

By participating in this Contest, participants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor and the Judges. By participating in this Contest, participants hereby waive and release, and agree to hold harmless the Sponsor, the Judges, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, distributors, licensors, advertising and promotion agencies and all of their respective officers, directors, employees and representatives and agents (the “Released Parties”), from and against, any and all rights, claims and causes of action whatsoever that they may have, or which may arise, against any of them for any liability for any matter, cause or thing whatsoever, including but not limited to any injury, loss, damage, whether direct, compensatory, incidental or consequential, to person, including death, and/or property, arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from their acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize, or their participation in this Contest, or any Contest or prize-related activity. Winner assumes all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this Contest or use or redemption of any prize.

  1. Ownership and Publicity:

Participant represents and warrants he or she has the full right, title and interest to the Submission and/or a right and license from the owner of the Submission and that he or she will comply with all these Official Rules. By entering this Contest and providing a Submission, participant grants Sponsor and its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents and licensees, a royalty-free, unconditional, irrevocable, and perpetual right, license and consent, without any compensation, consideration or further notification, to use, edit, reproduce, print, publish, display, transmit, distribute, sell, perform, adapt, enhance, or create derivative works from the mural provided in connection with Submission, and to use and refer to the participant, his or her name, likeness, image, distinctive characteristics, city, state, any statements made and prize information, for any purpose, including but not limited to editorial, advertising, trade, commercial, and publicity purposes in any media throughout the world, unless prohibited by law. Sponsor also has the right to arrange for the news media and journalists to attend and, if applicable record, any public appearances and statements of the prize winner. Sponsor shall not incur any liability whatsoever to the extent Sponsor chooses to refrain from any exploitation of its rights hereunder.

  1. Limitation of Liability:

Sponsor and their respective agencies are not responsible for lost, late, damaged, delayed, incomplete, illegible, or misdirected Submissions, Submissions not received by the entry deadline, or for electronic, network or computer failures or malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission that may limit a user’s ability to participate in this Contest, or other hardware, software or technical errors of any kind including any injury or damage to any person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in the Contest. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for undeliverable e-mails resulting from any form of active or passive e-mail filtering by a user’s Internet service provider and/or insufficient space in user’s e-mail account to receive e-mail. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the Contest (or any portion thereof) if fraud, misconduct or technical failures destroy the integrity of the Contest or if a computer virus, bug, or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper administration of the Contest, as determined by Sponsor, in their sole discretion. If the Contest is so cancelled, judging will be conducted from among all eligible Submissions received prior to the time of termination. In the event a dispute arises regarding a specific individual entitled to receive the prize, Submission will be declared made by the “authorized account holder” and any damage made to the website will also be the responsibility of the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Participant may be requested to provide Sponsor with proof that the participant is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the Submission. Proof of submitting a Submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor. Any use of robotic, automatic, programmed or the like methods of participation will void all Submissions by such methods. Sponsor reserves the right to prohibit the participation of an individual if fraud or tampering is suspected, or if the individual fails to comply with any requirement of participation as stated herein or with any provision in these Official Rules.

  1. Disputes:

Each participant agrees that (a) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with this Contest, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and any judicial proceeding shall take place in a federal or state court in the State of New York, (b) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Contest, but in no event attorneys’ fees and (c) under no circumstances will participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, and consequential damages, and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of participant and the Sponsor in connection with this Contest shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions (whether of the State of New York or any other jurisdiction), that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than those of the State of New York.

By entering the Contest, participants acknowledge that they are familiar with the provisions of California Civil Code Section 1452, which provides as follows:

A GENERAL RELEASE DOES NOT EXTEND TO CLAIMS WHICH THE CREDITOR DOES NOT KNOW OR SUSPECT TO EXIST IN HIS FAVOR AT THE TIME OF EXECUTING THE RELEASE WHICH IF KNOWN BY HIM MUST BE MATERIALLY AFFECTED HIS SETTLEMENT WITH THE DEBTOR.

Accordingly, by entering the Contest, participants (on their behalf and on behalf of their heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, predecessors, successors and assigns of any of the foregoing, and all other persons and entities asserting rights of or acting on behalf of the participant) hereby waive and relinquish any right or benefit which participant or such persons has, have or may have against Sponsor and their respective agencies under Section 1542 of the Civil Code of the State of California, or under any similar statutory or common law of any other jurisdiction to the full extent that any such person may lawfully waive such rights and benefits pertaining to the releases set forth in these Official Rules and Sponsor’s Privacy Policy.

  1. General Terms:

INTERNET CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES, AND MAY SUBJECT ANY PERSONS INVOLVED TO CRIMINAL AND CIVIL PROSECUTION, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

  1. Privacy:

By entering this Contest, participants give their express permission to be contacted by Sponsor by email or other contact information. By participating in this Contest, participants acknowledge and agree that Sponsor may collect and use the personal information submitted by participant to administer this Contest and pursuant to Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, located at http://www.freakydeakyhalloween.com/privacy-policy

  1. WINNER’S LIST

For the name of the Winner, send a self-address stamped envelope to “Attn: Freaky Deaky Campus Mural Contest – Winner’s List, React Presents, 400 N. May Street, Suite 202, Chicago, IL 60642. Requests must be received no later than ninety (90) days after winners are announced.
