Don’t Sleep On: Bleep Bloop

Posted on September 26, 2016

This week’s “Don’t Sleep On” series is dedicated to BLEEP BLOOP, one of bass music’s most innovative and celebrated creators among the underground and mainstream sectors alike. In honor of his Freaky Deaky debut on Saturday, October 29, we invite attendees and fans to learn more about this one of a kind producer and his deadly dubstep concoctions.

Based in the dubstep-rich northern California, Bleep Bloop’s style and influences are grounded in the most bizarre and boundary-pushing aspects of his genre. He’s equally as recognized for his complex and maximalist approach to songwriting as he is for his coarse, stank face-inducing sound design.

For more than four years, his forward-thinking record label, 710 Records, has stood as an acclaimed outlet for some of the most interesting and talented bass music producers in the game. Alongside friends and collaborators like G. Jones and Liquid Stranger, Bleep Bloop has been able to make a lasting name for himself among the upper echelons of the electronic music circuit.

He was recognized and supported by veteran record producer DJ Shadow, whose label then served as a platform for his 2014 EP 10 Watt Lazers. The relationship proved to be especially beneficial when Bleep Bloop was able to help Shadow transfer his production skills from software Pro Tools to Ableton.

Bleep Bloop’s quick accelerating career has seen him play support for the likes of Pretty Lights, 12th Planet, DJ Craze, Kode9, Boys Noize, Minnesota, Herobust, Cashmere Cat. His music has been spun on BBC Radio 1, Diplo & Friends, Rinse FM and countless other stations.

Most recently, Bleep Bloop has begun to release select singles off of his upcoming EP, The EP With Five Eyes, set to drop on October 5. Each of the uploaded tracks showcases a different side of his immense spectrum of expertise, culminating in what’s sure to be a collection of a lifetime. As he continues his North American live tour alongside Liquid Stranger, be sure not to miss his rattling, bass-laced set during Freaky Deaky’s Halloween weekend in Chicago!
