Freaky Deaky

The Crypt Stage feat. Bro Safari, Figure and more

Posted on August 9, 2016

Throughout Halloween weekend, the Crypt Stage at Freaky Deaky will be transformed each night to highlight a diverse scope of dance music’s most noteworthy contributors. Take a break from the tents to visit this intimate, enclosed stage located inside a sinister Crypt. On Friday, October 28, the stage will be headlined by none other than bass music veteran and original Evol Intent member Bro Safari!

His longstanding career within the bass music scene has led him to become involved with several acclaimed projects, including American drum and bass group Evol Intent and mashup duo Ludachrist. His solo work, now heralded as a powerful mixture of moombahton, trap and dubstep, has most recently culminated in a collaboration with dance music funnyman Dillon Francis. The track was debuted at Washington’s Paradiso Festival, and comes as an unreleased follow-up to the two’s 2015 single, “Pull It.”

Along with him, a pantheon of epic bass music acts will round out the Friday evening roster. For starters, the dubstep realm will be proudly represented by Figure, Indiana-based pioneer of unimaginable sound design and raw energy. He recently released his long-teased remix of the Scooby Doo theme song and embarked on a national tour with fellow heavy hitters Bear Grillz and Excision.Known for his yearly October Monster Series, his presence at Freaky Deaky comes as the perfect match up for fans of horror and bass.

Up next will be crunkstep mainstay Crizzly, known for his wild and nonstop blend of high octane trap and dubstep bangers. After co-founding two nightclubs in San Antonio, Texas in 2011, Crizzly went on to play some of the largest music festivals in the world. With official remixes of tracks by L.A. Style, Waka Flocka, Jibbs and Bassnectar under his belt, Crizzly’s spectrum of expertise has extended far and wide.

ILLENNIUM is, by far, one of the most talked-about artists in his hometown of Denver, Colorado. The leading single from his most recent album created with the internationally recognized Sirma, “Drop Our Hearts,” rose to the #1 position on immediately. His personal brand of soaring, melodic dubstep has given Illenium a fanbase unlike any in the scene, and skyrocketed his rise to acclaim. Since his humble beginning, he’s received the chance to remix The Chainsmokers, Kaskade and Galantis, and premiered his newest album Ashes as part of Billboard’s weekly dance music spotlight series, which quickly rose to #1 on iTunes’ Electronic Album chart.

Attendees of the Crypt Stage on Friday will also be treated to a series of powerful trap sets, specially picked to bring the highest possible energy to the Halloween crowds. Duo Loudpvck released their Botany EP in 2015, following a lengthy career of epic remixes and original releases. From Kill the Noise and Mr. Carmack to Major Lazer and Dada Life, the list of notable artists not flipped by Loudpvck is growing shorter and shorter.

Alongside them, DJ 4B will be following his 2016 EDC performance with a welcome stop at Toyota Park. Since his first single, “Bomboclot,” was premiered on BBC Radio 1extra’s Diplo & Friends Mix, 4B has received support from the likes of Carnage, RL Grime, Tiesto, DJ Snake, Skrillex and many more. His catalogue of remixes includes a flip of Fetty Wap’s “My Way” with Flosstradamus, and his latest release “Pop That” spent weeks on Spotify’s Global Viral 50 chart, peaking at #6.

As Freaky Deaky and the Crypt Stage welcome attendees to its 2016 installment, we look forward to throwing down and getting wild with Bro Safari and the rest of the gang on Friday night!
