The Crypt Stage feat. Dubfire:Live HYBRID + more

Posted on August 24, 2016

On Saturday, October 29, the Crypt Stage will be hosted by an all-inclusive blend of artists from far across the electronic music spectrum, transforming the stage into a nonstop exploration of some of the wildest and most diverse styles of the weekend.

Ending the evening with a closing set is Iranian producer Dubfire’s specially curated Live: HYBRID performance! Fans of deadly techno rhythms and artistic visual spectacles will find just what they’re looking for, as Dubfire expertly combines 3D and 2D animation with live lighting and audio to form a unique sensory experience. The Grammy-winning DJ began crafting the HYBRID show in 2014 at the Amsterdam Dance Event after establishing himself deep within the minimal techno scene. Today, it stands as one of the most forward thinking and highly conceptual live acts, testing the boundaries between man and machine.

Joining Dubfire with a supporting set is the mysterious, German bird-man Claptone! Donning his usual golden beak mask, the producer will introduce his own strain of soulful and groovy deep house to the Freaky Deaky crowd on Saturday evening as he spins a set chock full of his chart-topping hits. Supported by the likes of A-trak, Solomon, Julio Bashmore, Eats Everything, Hot Chip and many more, Claptone has long been regarded as one of the most talented and decorated contributors in the community. Since his 2012, Beatport-topping single “Cream” jumpstarted his sparkling reputation, Claptone has gone on to perform at some of the world’s most respected festivals and events, Coachella being the most recent.

Up next is Michigan native MK, known for his powerful house heaters and collaborative work with A-listers Will Smith and Pitbull. After hitting No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts in the ‘90s for tracks “Always” and “Love Changes,” MK went on to remix Storm Queen’s own “Look Right Through,” which subsequently reached No. 1 on the UK Singles chart. His remixes for Celine Dion, Betty Boo, Sofia Shinas and work with Lana Del Ray, Enrique Iglesias, Ellie Goulding, Jamie Jones, Lee Foss and more have now firmly cemented MK as the go-to creator for some of pop’s biggest hits. Attendees can look forward to a performance packed to the brim with soothing house swayers and upbeat deep house anthems.

Up next is prolific French artist Brodinski who will be performing a mixture of his biggest and most well-rounded hip hop productions. Over the course of his career, Brodinski has received the opportunity to work with the likes of Kanye West on “Send It Up” and “Black Skinhead” from Yeezus, as well as tracks from Danny Brown, Kaytranada, Suicideyear and Theophilius London. The creation of his own record label, Bromance, has even allowed Brodinski to collaborate with Gesaffelstein and host a monthly BBC One Radio residency. With his immense, heavy rhythms and all-star list of co-creators, his set will not be one to miss.

Rounding out the roster on Saturday will be Belgian producer Kill Frenzy, one of the first European producers ever to release his unique brand of booty house tracks on Chicago’s famous Dust Traxx label. In 2012, Kill Frenzy debuted “Make That Booty Clap” on Claude VonStroke’s Dirtybird label, which was soon played around the world from DJs like Skrillex all the way to Soul Clap. Since then, he’s gone on to further cement his relationship with the veteran platform, as well as Detroit’s Juke Trax and Tiga’s own Turbo Recordings. With an unmistakable, bassy house groove and his feet firmly planted in the scene, Kill Frenzy is a welcome piece of the Crypt Stage’s truly epic Saturday night lineup.

On Saturday, October 29, prepare yourself for a taste of everything the house and hip hop-inspired underground has to offer as the Crypt Stage’s unbeatable roster of performances make the Halloween weekend one to remember!
