Top Ten Tips!

Posted on October 24, 2016

The fest is this weekend, so we like to provide you our TOP TEN TIPS which outline our best advice to festival attendees to have the smoothest and the most memorable Halloween Weekend of your life. This is your weekend, don’t sell yourself short by being ill-prepared! Read below and become a pro!

1. WILL CALL is OPEN ALL WEEK – In an effort to make the weekend as smooth as possible for everyone,  we’ve opened Will Call for the entire week leading up to the festival. Avoid lines the day of the fest and go HERE for full info.

2. DOWNLOAD the APP – This is your best resource to receive realtime updates, news and tips.  Get the most up-to-date announcements and Download the app, free for iPhone and Android.

3. MERCH – Our Official Merch is siiiqqq this year.  Last year we sold out of hoodies day one because it was a little chilly, and sold out of tees the next day because it was warm.  Don’t sleep on copping your gear and purchase early.  Find the Merch tent on our MAP.

4. AFTERPARTIES – The fest ends at 11pm on Friday and Saturday and at 9:30pm on Sunday, but most of our afterparties end at 4am each night! Some shows are already sold out so be sure to check out the full list of afters and purchase your tickets now. Between Snails, DJ Snake, BTSM, DJ Khaled, Duke Dumont, Jamie Jones and Tiesto, there’s something for everyone to keep the party going late night!

5. GO CASHLESS – New to Freaky Deaky this year is your option to Go Cashless!  When you register your wristband, you’ll have the option to link up your RFID chip directly to your credit card!  Avoid carrying a purse or backpack and get easy access to purchase beverages, rides, merch and select food vendors!

6. LOCKERS and CELL CHARGING – As you know the weather is tricky this time of year in Chicago so you might want to bring extra clothing, or ditch some sweaty clothing after hours of dancing!  Be the hero for your crew of Freaks and rent a locker for all your extra fest gear and charge your cell phone!

7. COSTUME GUIDELINES + PROHIBITED/ALLOWED ITEMS LIST
– Don’t put all of your hard work into a costume that doesn’t meet our safety requirements. Plan your getup ahead of time and make sure it meets the Costume Guidelines and Prohibited/Allowed Items list in our Festival Guide.

8. GETTING THERE – There’s multiple ways to get to and from the festival grounds, whether you booked a room at one of our preferred hotels or are driving in from the city or further away.  Check out your options HERE.

9. DON’T GET SCAMMED – No one wants to take the walk of shame in their Halloween costume! Avoid wasting your money on fraudulent passes and encourage your friends to purchase their tickets from our official website.  Don’t be fooled by anyone who is offering to sell you “backstage” credentials.

10. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF + OTHERS – Take time out to drink water, rest from dancing and grab some food.  It’s a marathon, not a sprint. If you see something of concern please don’t hesitate to bring it to the attention of the closest festival staff.  No one will ever get in trouble for doing what they think is right for the safety and well-being of others. Also check out the map and familiarize yourself with the locations of the Free Water station, Celebrate Safe tent and Medic Tent. With that said, let’s get Freaky!
